In preaching the soon return of Jesus in the spring of 1844 the believers  experienced serious opposition during that summer after Jesus had not come. Churches that previously had opened their doors were now very hostile. Even today any time that light is rejected, the darkness and hostility that follows is always great. May we be sensitive to the voice of God!
