Women have made a significant though often undervalued contribution to the development of the Christian church. In this upcoming series we will highlight the lives of some of the many women whose convictions, experiences, theological contributions and sacrifices form a part of our spiritual heritage and who we are today. Often the story of Christianity is told through the lives of the main male characters, yet there are many women whose stories unfortunately have remained in the shadows and yet it need not be so. The narrative of their lives can inspire both women and men today.
This series will be filmed on location across a variety of countries and will tell the stories of women such as Katerina Von Bora, one of the first ‘Pastors wives’ in modern times, wife of Martin Luther and their fascinating story of how they met and their subsequent marriage. We will share the story of Perpetua, a young Christian martyr from Carthage, in modern day Tunisia. We will discover the women who walked in the Royal courts of England and France who used their influence and connection to ensure that the various movements of reform in their countries progressed and strengthened. From Royalty such as Catherine Parr to ordinary people such as Marie Durand, they were bound together by their commitment to Jesus and their belief in God’s Word. To-day we stand on the shoulders of these giants of faith
Be inspired by their stories of courage, fortitude, and devotion to their faith.
